Bad Quail was established in 2016. What began as local production work in the Morongo Basin grew alongside the region itself. Joshua Tree National Park drew 1.6 million visitors in 2014. By the end of 2016 that number had crossed 2.5 million. The surrounding communities were generating more events, more demand, and more complexity than local vendors were equipped to handle at a professional level. Bad Quail expanded to meet that demand, growing from audio into lighting, video, power distribution, and full-service event production. Bad Quail has continued to grow in capability and regional reach since.
The company is owned and operated by Tim Hite, whose background spans over 40 years in audio production, large-scale event operations, federal contracting, and construction logistics. Bad Quail is based in Joshua Tree, California and operates throughout California and the Western United States.
Bad Quail holds $2 million in commercial general liability coverage, inland marine coverage, and workers’ compensation. All field staff complete OSHA 30-hour training at the start of employment. We are members of AVIXA, NAMM, the Audio Engineering Society, and the Event Safety Alliance.
There is no second chance in live events. Every deployment is treated accordingly.
